Clay and bronze sculptures

Patrick Mezas was born in 1954 on the island of Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles.

For years he ran his own bar, restaurant and clubs, but ever since he turned his back on business life in 2000 he completely applied himself to the visual arts. He is specialized in sculpting bronze-cast portraits (busts, statues, torsos etc.).

He started making little statues and toys out of wood from a very young age, using all kinds of tools from his father's workshop.

Besides portraits Patrick also makes sculptures of pets on assignment. He is a classic artist who aims to portray his models as true to reality as possible.

He makes a sketch and takes some pictures of the model which he uses as a basis for the sculpture. Therefore, posing for hours is not necessary.

The sculptures are either cast in bronze or baked in the oven and patined.
